| 1.11.2007 Comet 17P/Holmes, single image at 9:04 PM UT with square root scaling. This scaling reproduce best the visual impression and clearly shows that the coma structures of comet Holmes are very different to those of other comets. Imaged with CCD-Camera2, 15s exposed, 50cm RC, f=4m at Harpoint Observatory. The bright vertical streak at the star to the middle right in the image is caused by over-saturation of the CCD pixel as the CCD-Camera2 uses no anti blooming gate. |
