| 28.02.2003 ngc4565, CCD-Camera2, 18min exposed, Harpoint observatory, 50cm RC, f=4m This edge on spiral galaxy of type Sb shows a rich structured dark lane with a stellar core shining just above it. To its north (upper middle) lies the weak and smooth object IC 3571 which looks quite similar to a dwarf galaxy and may possibly be a companion. Another galaxy, NGC 4562 is visible in the lower right corner showing a distorted disk pointing to NGC 4565 and therefore may have a gravitational interaction with it. [filesize 260 KB]
