| 23.02.2003 m82, CCD-Camera2, 30min exposed, Harpoint observatory, 50cm RC, f=4m On this image of M82 are clearly visible filamentary structures going out from the active core and extending far out to both sides of the disk. This are H-alpha filaments showing a bipolar structure which may be caused by a strong magnetic field. The whole disk shows rich structured dark cloud lanes and seems to be distorted which gets visible only on sufficient exposed images showing the week outer regions of the galaxy. [filesize 323 KB]
